I am modeling my modified toe brake rudder pedals after
Scott Plischke's (www.sonerai.net) pedals in his Sonerai.
(Seen on the left) I really like the look of his pedals.
The plans do not use toe brakes, so a custom design is
needed if hydraulic toe brakes are desired.
The start of the pedals.
I did not cut the tubes at 45 degrees for
the corners. I decided to just notch
and butt them together at 90 degrees.
The arm of the pedal.
The plans call for 6.5 inch across the
bottom and I used that measurement.
I decided on about 6.5 inch for the
vertical also. This might be changed
later for a more custom fit.
Right pedal almost done. Starting on
the left.
Jig made duplicating very easy.
Notice that the table has seen better
days. I would tack weld in the jig and
finish weld on a metal sheet to protect
the wood counter.
The right pedal zip-tied in place to
check the look.
The front cockpit is getting smaller by
the day! Notice the side of the front
seat on the left. The pilot's feet
straddle the passenger.
Pedals done. The pivot bar will be
locked in place to the bottom with a
spring pin.
Next, I will weld on the bottom bushings
and install in the A/C.
Below:
An arm for the top of the master cylinder.
The brake master cylinders I
am going to use. They were
purchased used and came
from a Cessna. A good
cleaning is all they needed.
Pedals bushings in.
Cylinder mounts next!
